Shelburne, VT – Fiddlehead Brewing Company is now one of the top 50 craft breweries in the nation by volume produced in 2021.
The annual report produced by the Brewers Association lists Fiddlehead Brewing Company as the 49th largest brewery, rising from 86th in 2020.
Fiddlehead Brewing Company has bucked industry trends year after year. In 2020, the craft beer industry saw a 9% drop in production, while Fiddlehead Brewing Company saw a 25% increase in revenue thanks to a rapid transition to canned products.
“Before the pandemic, we were 85% drafted. When the drafts disappeared overnight with bars and restaurants closing, we were able to quickly pivot and start canning our flagship IPA for the first time. We have been told by many customers that Fiddlehead IPA cans are one of the few bright spots to come from the pandemic,” said Matt (Matty O) Cohen, President/Owner.
Last year, the industry grew 8%, while Fiddlehead Brewing Company grew 89%, an impressive feat in a relatively small 8-state footprint.
“We could not have accomplished this without the support of strong partners, dedicated staff and, of course, our loyal customers. We are excited about growth, but understand that the foundation of our success is a consistent and ongoing commitment to quality and freshness.
The meteoric rise is not expected to slow down as the company has already managed to increase its production in the first quarter of 2022 by 85% compared to the first quarter of 2021.
