Vista, CA and Nampa, ID – Mother Earth continues its release schedule every 60 days of Hazy IPA with a new Simcoe and Mosaic hopped brew that is a tongue twister inside and out and visually impresses with the flowing creations of the artist known as from pxEYES – an LA based visual and 3D artist known for his work with musicians like Steve Aoki, Zed’s Dead and others.
Synaptic Plasticity (Pronounced /s?’naptik/ /pla’stis?de/), unlike many of this year’s previous “Project X Series” releases, leans more towards the West Coast style of Hazies, ending more dry and slightly more bitter, as well as being more unfiltered than milky, on the Hazy sliding scale. Don’t get me wrong, though; what it lacks in New England qualities it more than makes up for in flavor and aroma.
Mother Earth brewers have gone all out with Simcoe and Mosaic, a pair of classic Pacific Northwest domestic hops well known for their key roles in some of the most famous IPA categories.
“We had a slew of releases this year that leaned towards the New England style, so we wanted to swing the pendulum and change it to the latest release. We kept the residual sweetness low and toned down the haze. The result is a beer that is drunk halfway between a NE-style Hazy and a WC IPA. Call it a West Coast Hazy. It’s hop-focused enough for Clear beer purists, but lacks the lingering bitterness that Hazy IPA fans may appreciate.
-Christopher Baker – Director of Brewing Operations, Mother Earth Brew Co.
