SACRAMENTO, Calif. – California Breweries is launching a special statewide collaboration to benefit the California Craft Brewers Association (CCBA), the nonprofit trade organization representing the craft and specialty brewing industry in California.
“As we navigate the pandemic and look to the future, the CCBA is launching a celebratory, unifying beer that any CCBA member can brew to continue telling the story of craft beer across the state of California. and to raise funds for the association.” said Lori Ajax, executive director of the CCBA.
Participating breweries will create their own recipe and choose their own style of beer to brew.
“As long-time members, supporters, and former board members of the CCBA, Vinnie and I are thrilled and honored to be brewing this special beer for the nation’s top craft beer trade association!” said Natalie Cilurzo, co-owner of Russian River Brewing. “The California craft beer scene wouldn’t be what it is today without the tireless and proactive efforts of the CCBA. We love to brew fundraising beers and this one checks all the right boxes too. Our CCBA Collaboration infusion is an IPA that will be available at the end of July!
Established in 1989, the CCBA is the oldest state trade association representing craft breweries. CCBA has funded its mission primarily with funds from membership dues and large-scale industry and consumer events. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the CCBA has been forced to cancel many conferences and the annual CA Craft Beer Summit in 2020 and 2021.
“The CCBA provides a foundation upon which California Craft Breweries can build and provides a legislative moat protecting our rights and privileges.” said Lynne Weaver, founder of Three Weavers Brewing Company and chair of the CCBA board. “Decades of legislative leadership has enabled the CCBA to act quickly and successfully advance legislation that has helped California’s craft breweries during the pandemic. It is an honor to support the CCBA in this fundraising brew, allowing the CCBA to continue its good work for our industry. Three Weavers is delighted to brew a Pale Ale for our CCBA Collaboration beer.
The CCBA Brewers Collaboration fundraiser was made possible by the generous support of CCBA Allied Business Members, including Crosby Hops, The County Malt Group Custom Label and Vessel Packaging, who donated discounted ingredients and services for the project.
CCBA Brewers Collaboration beer will be available as packaged beer at participating breweries across the state beginning in mid-July and continuing through summer and early fall.
