Being able to provide a unique experience can help you stand out from all the fun there is in Wichita. When it comes to spending time on the patio, I’m not sure anyone has anything more unique than Nortons Brewery and their garden igloos.
If you’ve never heard of them, garden igloos are basically plastic domes that are heated on the inside and provide seating to protect you from the elements of Wichita. Nortons has transformed its beer garden space to include four garden igloos that people can rent and spend quality time with family and friends.
The igloos that rest on floating bridges were upgraded last year and are something everyone should try at least once. Inside the igloos you will find tables, cushions and lighting.
The garden igloos can accommodate up to six people. Each igloo is also equipped with its own electric fireplace and a dedicated Bluetooth speaker.
To book an igloo, you need to go to their website. A non-refundable deposit of $25 is required for all reservations. Reservations are made in time slots of 1h30.
If you would like to reserve the igloo for 3 hours, a food/beverage minimum of $300 is required plus a $150 deposit and $50 non-refundable rental fee.
For what it’s worth, our party of six tried the igloo once, and our tab after 1.5 hours was $200. Again, we like to eat and drink.
A few other things to note: The igloos are for 21 and over, no pets and no smoking inside. You must arrive 10 minutes before your reservation time. All members of your party must be present when they place you. And finally, your party must be on a single check with an automatic 20% tip.
Be sure to add garden igloos to your holiday program. We will return to igloos this year. In the meantime, look at the photos of the igloo from last year.
