NEW ORLEANS (press release) – National Okra Day is Wednesday, October 12. Celebrate and support a good local cause by purchasing a Grab & Go Gumbo lunch to benefit Son of a Saint! This special event is organized by the local Roux & Brew Krewe: Jambalaya Girl, Abita Brewing Company and Rock N’ Bowl.
The National Okra Day celebration will be held in the parking lot of Rock-N-Bowl, located at 3016 S. Carrollton Ave, New Orleans, LA 70118. With a $10 donation to Son of a Saint, patrons will receive a Grab & Go Gumbo Lunch, which includes Chicken and Jambalaya Girl’s Gumbo Sausage and Abita Root Beer. Pre-orders for lunch can be made via Eventbrite. Only 500 bowls will be served, so be sure to arrive early or order online to reserve your bowl. Pre-ordering is not mandatory, it just reserves your lunch order.
