Minneapolis Brewery Finnegans buys local non-alcoholic beer company

Downtown Minneapolis brewery FINNEGANS is adding non-alcoholic beers to its offering.

The acquisition of Hairless Dog Brewing Company by FINNEGANS was announced on Tuesday.

Hairless Dog Brewing only makes non-alcoholic beers. They currently have three signature varieties: Citra Lager, IPA and Black Ale – which will now be made and sold at FINNEGANS as well as liquor stores and grocery stores nationwide. The beverages will continue to be sold under the Hairless Dog name and brand.

Hairless Dog was founded in Minneapolis in 2016 by two Minnesotans, Paul Pirner and Jeff Hollander. The company claims to have created the first true 0.0% non-alcoholic beer in the United States, claiming that most non-alcoholic beers actually contain up to 0.5% alcohol. Their brewing process does not use alcohol.

“We are so proud of what we have created with Hairless Dog and there is no one better than Jacquie Berglund and her team at FINNEGANS whom we would trust to keep the brand alive,” said Jeff Hollander, co. -founder of Hairless Dog, in a statement. “And keeping him in Minnesota is important to us.”
