Over the next year, the Montauk Brewing Company self-distributed to local East End accounts and slowly created a buzz around a brand that hadn’t existed before them.

While there was certainly some magic behind the brand; it was simple stuff, blocking and tackling with pint glasses, coasters and walking around town with a Wave Chaser IPA tap handle in their back pocket that built on already existing momentum. In the spring of 2016, the brightly colored, nautical-themed Montauk six-packs began flying off the shelves and loyal fans proudly tagged Montauk on Instagram at a breakneck pace.
