NoDa Brewing Company opening location in Chapel Hill

Famed Charlotte-based NoDa Brewery will open its first Triangle location next month. The brewery released a statement on Thursday saying it would take over the space formerly occupied by Old East Tavern on Environ Way in Chapel Hill. The grand opening is scheduled for September 16.

Old East Tavern, formerly known as Bottle Rev, opened at 1118 Environ Way in 2021. Bottle Rev, which was at a different location in the same mall, had been serving NoDa beer since 2017. The owners of Old East Tavern, Julie Paddison and Lew Hendricks are now working with NoDa to rebrand the space as 1118 Environ Way. The location will now be known as NoDa Brewing Company Tapas.

“We are honored to have our favorite brewery trust us to open a NoDa Brewing brewhouse in Chapel Hill,” Hendricks said. “NoDa Brewing’s brand and culture dovetails perfectly with our values and community involvement. We also can’t wait to start pairing their delicious beer with our tapas menu.

The brasserie will offer small plates and a full-service bar. According to NoDa’s statement, some tapas will include clams, Cornish hen and smoked prawns. Cans and bottles of wine will be available for takeout.
