San Diego, California – With Snapdragon Stadium opening this Saturday and the upcoming fall sports season, AleSmith Brewing Company and San Diego State University are thrilled to announce AleSmith as their official craft beer. This partnership kicks off the 2022-23 football season with the launch of State Ale, a collaboration beer between the University and the brewery that will be available throughout San Diego.
“We look forward to partnering with AleSmith Brewing, one of the world’s leading craft breweries,” said San Diego State Athletic Director John David Wicker. “The State of San Diego shares similar AleSmith values of family and community, and we are thrilled to have AleSmith as our official craft brewery.”
“We are proud to partner on State Ale with a world-class brewery like AleSmith,” said Derek Grice, associate athletic director for San Diego State, Mission Valley Development. “We’re committed to bringing a beer to the San Diego community for all to enjoy, and I think we’ve created something that all San Diego residents can be proud of.”
In addition to collaborative brewing, SDSU and AleSmith will partner on future projects around the university and the athletic department.
“As an SDSU alum, starting a relationship and working with my alma mater is a particularly exciting opportunity for me and AleSmith,” said AleSmith Preisdent Brandon Richards. “San Diego State and AleSmith are built on a similar philosophy with a commitment to excellence and our community, making them an ideal partnership.”
AleSmith x SDSU State Ale is an easy-drinking, clean and refreshing light beer. “We’re thrilled to bring this beer to fans across San Diego State, we promise to provide fun and innovative ways to experience our collaboration,” Richards said. “We strive to be San Diego’s hometown brewery, with our .394 Pale and now San Diego State Ale, we’ve taken a big step forward in providing great options for San Diego residents. We want to see fans all over San Diego raise a State Ale together and proudly shout, “I believe we’re going to win.”
