The Cellar position requires a solid and functional understanding of all cellaring processes, best practices and safety considerations. Strong mechanical skills and the ability to diagnose/resolve technical issues is a must. The ability to work both independently and within a team is essential, and time management is of the utmost importance.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Punctuality
- Work a rotating shift schedule between 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
- Weekend work
- Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environment
- Maintain quality control and safety standards
- Yeast handling/harvesting
- Basic Brewing Lab Techniques
- Safely handle cleaning and disinfection chemicals
- Exceptional communication and problem solving skills
- Manage multiple processes at once
- Work safely in confined spaces occasionally
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 55 lbs.
- Possess or immediately acquire a forklift operator certification (employer’s expense)
- Have completed the Brewers Association online safety training modules, or agree to do so within 14 days of the date of hire
