The brewers association uses Backbone Media for its public relations

Carbondale, Colorado – The Brewers Association, the nonprofit trade association dedicated to small independent American brewers, has named Backbone media its reference public relations agency.

“We are honored to have been selected by the preeminent trade organization in an industry that we fully support,” said Ian Anderson, Public Relations Manager and Partner at Backbone. “As craft brewers continue to grow their share of the overall beer market in a highly competitive environment, it’s an exciting time for our agency to contribute to the BA’s marketing efforts and share the compelling stories of small independent craft brewers.”

In 2018, small independent brewers collectively produced 25.9 million barrels and achieved total growth of 4%, bringing the overall craft beer market share by volume to 13.2%.

“We were impressed with Backbone’s experience in the active lifestyle and beverage industries, as well as its ability to tell nuanced stories of leading brands and organizations to a mainstream audience,” said said Ann Obenchain, Marketing Director of the Brewers Association. “Backbone will help usher the BA into the next chapter of our media relations campaigns, and we believe all aspects and members of the BA will benefit from their expertise and commitment.”

Backbone will provide dedicated media relations and strategic communications support for association initiatives and priorities for members and consumers, amplifying the brand presence and awareness of the Brewers Association and its members ; promote and elevate the craft beer beverage to consumers; and spark interest in the hobby of home brewing.

Based in Washington, D.C. Public Affairs Banner will continue to provide media and communications support for the association’s legislative efforts.
