The Ocean State Beer Festival will take place at the Ragged Island Brewing Company on August 21

After a two-year hiatus, the Ocean State Beer Festival will return on August 21, 2022, this year at the Ragged Island Brewing Company in Portsmouth. This year’s theme is “From Farm to Barrel”.

The Ocean State Beer Festival is in its sixth year. It is a fundraiser for the Rhode Island Brewers Guild and is the only beer event focused exclusively on Rhode Island breweries. To underline the “Farm to Keg” theme, this year each participating brewer was invited to create a special beer with locally grown ingredients just for this event.

“Supporting the local community is what this festival is all about,” says Matt Gray, Chairman of the RI Brewers Guild and owner of the Ragged Island Brewing Company. “Rhode Island is the smallest state, but our craft beer industry is thriving, with over 38 breweries and breweries in the Guild. We’re thrilled to be hosting this “Farm to Keg” event and can’t wait to see what unique beers people can create with what’s grown around us. The Ocean State Beer Festival raises much-needed funds for the RI Brewers Guild, allowing us to fulfill our mission to the entire Rhode Island brewing community.

The festival will be unique as tickets have been limited to 400 to ensure privacy and a good time for all. Patrons should expect short lines and plenty of opportunities to speak with staff at their favorite Rhode Island brewery without being rushed.

The event will feature beer from the vast majority of RI Brewers Guild members and includes unlimited beer sampling throughout the event. Food trucks offering local products will also be presented. One hundred percent of proceeds benefit the Rhode Island Brewers Guild.
