There’s nothing better than unwinding after a long day than hanging out with friends and sending a few (or more) cold ones back. And one of the best places to do it is here in San Antonio.
Southern Living, a lifestyle magazine for all things Southern culture, food, real estate and more, recently named San Antonio’s Weathered Souls Brewing Company one of the Best Breweries in the South. in 2022.
“This year, in the best roundup of the best breweries in the South, the competitors produce the best of their craft – and more,” reads an excerpt from the article. “While they represent everywhere from South Carolina to Louisiana, from Mississippi to Virginia, the one thing that unites them all? Community.”
Weathered Souls Brewing Company came in at number 17 on Southern Living’s Top 20 Breweries in the South list. Touting the company’s success and its “fiercely independent” nature, the brewery prides itself on its grain being locally sourced and delivered to San Antonio, Houston, Austin and South Texas. Carefully crafting the perfect pint in the shadow of the fermenters – it’s no wonder the brewery has gained a massive following that keeps the loyalist always coming back for more.
Its down-to-earth environment makes you feel like part of the brewery family with a motto where everyone is welcome. The company lets its drinks speak for itself in that it does not rely on advertising but builds its reputation through the driving philosophy that if the beer is good enough, people will find out and will find their way to their establishment.

Weathered Souls launched the global collaboration “Black is Beautiful,” in which brewers pledge a portion of their profits to organizations that raise awareness and fight injustices faced by people of color. The brewery’s flagship stout, along with a few other offerings, are now available at several local target locations.
The brewery is located at 606 Embassy Oaks, Suite 500. It is open Monday through Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., Thursday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
