CHARLOTTE — The Humane Society of Charlotte and NoDa Brewing Company have launched their second year of working together to raise funds to support the association’s mission.

Rescue Brew, an online photo contest featuring cats and dogs will run until May 31 and winners will be announced on June 2.

Community members are encouraged to submit photos of their dogs or cats to compete for the Top Dog or Queen City Kitty title. The winning photo of the dog and cat will be featured on a limited-edition can of Rescue Brew, a special beer brewed by NoDa Brewing Company exclusively for fundraising. Winning photos will be made into a custom portrait by artist Charlotte Helen Barnard. These portraits will then become the official label of Rescue Brew 2022.

“This fundraiser was a huge success last year. We exceeded our goal by over $40,000, which was completely unexpected,” said Cody Nations, Chief Marketing Officer of NoDa Brewing Company. “We are honored to be part of this incredible initiative with HSC and to help so many cats and dogs in Charlotte who need our support.”

Interested people can submit their pet’s photo and a brief description of why their dog or cat is the perfect face for Rescue Brew. All photo submissions require a $10 entry fee. For voters, $1 = 1 vote, per photo. All funds raised will support HSC’s mission.
